Coach Jesse Pearce Jesse went to Lake Taylor High school in Norfolk, where He was a 3x district champion, 99’ regional champion at 145lbs, 2x state qualifier placed 5th in 1999, 1999 freestyle and Greco State Champion, Member of the 1999 Virginia Dream Team. He finished high school with a career record of 120-18 which was a school record for all time wins. In College, Jesse Competed on the Varsity Wrestling Team “1999-2004” on a Athletic Scholarship to Old Dominion University. He was the team captain in 2004 and placed 2nd at Colonial Athletic Association Championship in 2001 and 4th place in 2004. He obtained a B.S. Health & Physical Education

Chris Buckner - Assistant Coach |

Christopher went to high school at Deep Creek High School and was a wrestler there. He was a two time state qualifier, he placed 1st at Eastern Districts, 2nd at Eastern Regionals and 3rd at Virginia States in 2001. He is a member of the Virginia All-Star Team for 2001 and made most valuable wrestler in 1999 and 2001. He broke the high school record for wins and pins. He came in 1st in Virginia Greco Roman State Champ and 2nd in Virginia Freestyle States in 2001. He went on to wrestle at Old Dominion University where he took 1st at Virginia intercollegiate state, 2nd at the ODU invitational and was a team leader for Tech Falls in 2003. He then went on after college to become an assistant coach at Blair Middle School starting in 2005 and lead the team to their first city title in five years with six city champs and six placers. He left Blair Middle after the 2007 school year to come and be an assistant coach here at Grassfield High School. |
