Have Questions?
Frequently Asked
Questions
How Long is the Season?
The Folkstyle (middle and high school) wrestling seasons start at the end of October and end Late February/March. Freestyle season is year round but typically after the Folkstyle season from March to May.
How does the weight classes work?
Wrestlers have to weigh-in at or under a designated weight class before competition. In High School there is a body fat/hydration test at the beginning of the season dictating the minimum weight a wrestler can compete at.
How much does it cost?
Depending on the type of season the team cost can vary. Our folkstyle teams cover tournament and most equipment costs. In our Club (Freestyle) tournaments, parents are responsible for paying their kid’s equipment, singlet, and tournament fees.
Are Girls to wrestle allowed too?
Yes! Girls/Women’s wrestling is growing fast. As more and more females compete we are seeing more tournaments at each level become available.
How do the rules work?
You can check out our FAQ/Rules section for a full breakdown of scoring rules for each style/level.
What can I expect at practice?
Wrestlers work hard. Plain and simple kids get out of wrestling exactly how much effort they put into it. Kids are expected to be at every practice unless excused. They are partnered up with someone within a similar age and weight range. Practices at all levels typically have a short run, warm-up, stretching, drills, live wrestling, and some conditioning.
